seasons of change August 30, 2011

Launching june ice during an event packed summer, as taught me many things. First off, organization is key, and it is very important to find the balance between work time and play.  Now after a busy summer, my house has become quiet with two kiddos in elementary school, and one in preschool.  It is quite the change, and it has taken me a while to get used to the lack of chaos.

All these changes made me reflect on my work plan and the direction of june ice.  I kept feeling I was missing something, and I have now found the missing piece.  This Fall I am introducing a new collection – melt. The melt pieces will be one-of-a-kind and limited edition.  The collection will have dresses, upcycled appliqued vintage shirts, and a few new blankets.  I’m really excited for this new collection and the fun new direction of june ice!

a long time coming, but i’m finally here! June 6, 2011

June ice was created more than a year ago, but I didn’t get moving on it until this winter.  The business plan flowed smooth and my timeline was very aggressive–thus I am 2 months behind.  However, I truly believe that everything happens for a reason.  So it is very appropriate that the launch of june ice would be in JUNE!!!

I am so thrilled to share my creations with everyone.  My pieces are very simple but have a very fun and unique twist to them.  The first collection is inspired by my kiddos–and they even helped with some of the designing–which they loved!  There are a lot of soft and easy earth colors–corals, browns, oranges, and blues.  This first line is filled with reversed appliqued shirts and gowns, plus coordinating plush minky blankyz.  The design of the blankyz are based from my thumb-sucking son.  He has 2 blankyz that I have made for him.  His original blanky, blanky one, as he refers to it, has been with him since birth.  Being the smart mommy I am, I made him a duplicate blanky–which he calls blanky two.  Life is so amazing!
